Bullistik La Mancha Saffron

Bullistik La Mancha Saffron
ayat, dd, BB, EmEm, kyky, NN

Saffron is our bred-by girl out of our gorgeous blue brindle, Greyce’s, 2nd and final litter.

Saffron is blue mask, blue fawn (dd, ayat, EmEm, kyky) and fortunate for Bullistik, she carries the tricolor gene (at) and does not carry the pied gene (NN), so regardless of what stud dog Saffron is bred to, all of her offspring will be ‘solid’ colored but can be blue fawn, blue & tan, fawn, or black & tan.  None will be spotted!

Now, don’t go thinking I am a pied hater, because that could not be further from the truth.  Denied can attest to the fact that I love spotted FrogDogs, but, the reality is this regarding color genes: pied means ‘white’ covers up the majority of the markings on the dog.  So, if you are like me and LOVE tricolor markings, the last thing you want is to have a tricolor (Black/Tan, Chocolate/Tan, Blue/Tan) that has those fabulous markings covered up with white hair.

Denied is (atat) Black & Tan, but the only place on her body that she shows the tan markings is her cheeks/eyebrows because she is predominantly white, so no tan markings on chest, front legs, or rear legs.

And, if you breed 2 pieds together, the whole litter is pied:  not a solid puppy in the whelping box.

But, back to the lovely Saffron.  This girl reminds me so much of her mama, Greyce, sweet, laid back, quiet, well behaved.  Always watchful, loves humans, dogs, and cats.  Even tolerates the free range chickens and rooster, although she keeps both eyes on that evil rooster at all times.

Saffron has been health screened and that information is available on her health certifications page.  We are very happy with her results.

We are planning a very special breeding for Saffron in 2020, so stay tuned!
